Argentines scramble to save stranded whale

Argentines scrambled to save a humpback whale stranded in shallow waters of San Clemente del Tuyo this week, amid an increase in strandings in South America.

According to the Mundo Marino foundation, rescuers had tried to move this whale out to deeper waters over various days but the mammal died on Thursday (August 12).

According to Mundo Marino, nearly 100 whales were found dead near Brazil’s coastline of Santa Catalina this year alone.
