Inter Milan ‘lead race for £56m Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’ with Arsenal ready to listen to offers

Inter Milan lead the race to sign Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.

The Gunners are thought to be willing to listen to offers for the £200,000-a-week star who is out of contract in 2021 with a new deal proving difficult to agree.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have both been linked with the 30-year-old but, according to The Express, the Serie A side are in poll position to complete a £56million transfer.

Antonio Conte reportedly a big fan of the Gabon international with Aubameyang ready to enter discussions with the former Chelsea manager.

Conte has already signed several former Premier League players including Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen, Ashley Young and Alexis Sanchez, who has been on a season-long loan.

The coach could be set to lose star man Lautaro Martinez with Barcelona the favourites to sign the forward in the summer.

Aubameyang would be a perfect replacement for the Argentine with his clinical goal record.

He has netted 17 times in the Premier League this season, one less than leading scorer Jamie Vardy, and 20 in all competitions.

But the striker’s wages could prove to be an obstacle with Inter supposedly unwilling to meet demands for an increase on his current Arsenal salary.

But the Italians are thought to be confident they can negotiate with their No 1 target.
