Prince Harry and Meghan Markle walk beagle Guy and labrador Oz

With a blue bandanna over her face, the Duchess of Sussex is seen out and about in Los Angeles with Prince Harry for the first time since the couple moved there last month.

Meghan, 38, and Harry, 35, were spotted walking their two dogs in the city on Thursday.

The prince, who is still sixth in line to the throne despite stepping down from royal duties, was pulled along by the couple’s black labrador, while Meghan at one point carried her beloved rescue beagle, Guy.

The couple followed new Southern Californian regulations, which have made the wearing of face masks mandatory in the battle against Covid-19. But a security guard thought to be with them did not.

Couple’s charity food drops are caught on candid camera

Harry and Meghan were caught on CCTV delivering food to the needy in West Hollywood on Wednesday.

Recipient Dan Tyrell, 53, said: ‘My phone rang and a lady said, “Hi this is Meghan from Project Angel Food”.’ He went downstairs where he spotted a man with red hair who looked familiar.

‘Then I looked at Meghan and put it all together,’ he said. ‘I didn’t let on. For Harry and Meghan to do this is amazing.’

Although they initially moved to Canada last year they have now set up home in California, which friends say was always their plan.

It is thought they have been staying in Malibu while ‘finding their feet’ and looking for a ‘forever’ home.

The couple, who were forced to give up their Sussex Royal branding by the Queen, are being bankrolled by Prince Charles for the first year of their new life.

This week it emerged that they have been distributing meals to the needy in LA for the Project Angel Food charity, and were spotted in West Hollywood on Wednesday.

They were accompanied by a security team, but delivered the food alone.

A source close to the couple told the Daily Mail that they had hoped to keep their volunteering private but were glad the charity was being recognised.

Meghan also made a video call to volunteers at The Hubb Community Kitchen in London, with whom she wrote a charity cookbook.

The charity was set up after the Grenfell tragedy.

The women behind it are delivering 300 meals a week to vulnerable people in London.

Meghan said: ‘A home cooked meal from one neighbour to another is what community is all about.’

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed today that they home schooled their children during the Easter holidays without telling them

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed today that they home schooled their children during the Easter holidays without telling them – as they also spoke of their fears for Prince Charles over his coronavirus diagnosis.

Prince William and Kate said it had been ‘challenging’ to teach their three children – who they said had ‘got such stamina’, although it ‘hasn’t been all hardcore’ – but also told how they have been staying in touch with other Royal Family members using online video calls, in an interview with BBC Breakfast broadcast this morning.

Kate said of home schooling: ‘Don’t tell the children, we’ve actually kept it going through the holidays. I feel very mean. The children have got such stamina, I don’t know how. Honestly, you get to the end of the day and you write down the list of all the things that you’ve done in that day.’

She added: ‘It’s just having that bit of structure actually. And it’s great, there’s so many great tips online and fun activities that you can do with the children, so it hasn’t been all hardcore.’

William admitted he was ‘quite concerned’ for Charles after his 71-year-old father tested positive for coronavirus after having mild symptoms last month – but the Duke had been optimistic he would make a full recovery.

He also revealed he is worried about the health of his elderly grandparents, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, although they have both been doing all they can to ensure they are protected and isolated at Windsor Castle.

William also said the lesser environmental impact of people not flying around the world for business had been a ‘positive’ of the pandemic, and said he hopes people will now choose to work from home more in the future.

And the couple told of their fears for the mental health of NHS staff who will be carrying some of the ‘pain, fear and loneliness’ suffered by patients, adding: ‘They’re the ones who absorb that and take it home to their families.’

The Duchess also indicated that they might call Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Los Angeles next month to celebrate Archie’s first birthday on May 6.

Kate told how the Cambridges are using video apps to ‘share in on birthday calls and things like that’ to ensure they keep in touch with the rest of the royals.

She said: ‘I think your father and my parents and our families and things like that have really loved keeping in touch with the children because it’s really hard, particularly over family times like Easter and things like that, and not seeing each other. So we have been making sure we share in on birthday calls and things like that just to make sure we keep in touch with each other.’

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Just call us Meghan and Harry!’ Duchess confided it felt good to finally be ‘out and about connecting with people’, as couple made 20 visits for Project Angel Food because of her mother, a devotee of founder Marianne Williamson

Meghan Markle told friends it felt good to finally be out and about connecting with people after delivering charity meals around LA with her husband Prince Harry, an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com.

‘Meghan and Harry were really down-to-earth. Meghan had been looking for an organization to get behind and says Project Angel Food is the perfect fit. She plans on volunteering much more with Harry,’ the friend said.

The couple spent two days delivering food to critically ill residents who are at a greater risk amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic after Meghan wanted Harry to see the city ‘through the eyes of philanthropy’, following their move to LA last month.

They went under-the-radar in dressed down clothes while delivering meals to 20 people, seen in exclusive DailyMail.com photos waving to a man after handing over bags of food.

The source added: ‘Some people didn’t recognize them at first and others were just completely shocked. One elderly woman actually started to cry and said she had always been a fan and had always wanted to meet them, and then welcomed them to their new life in America.’

The source added: ‘Meghan said it felt good to finally be out and about, connecting with people.

‘It was surreal and just so heartwarming. They brought so many smiles and made Easter so special for those who needed it the most.’

The friend explained Meghan got the idea to volunteer with Project Angel Food from her mother Doria Ragland, who is a longtime supporter of the charity and a big fan of founder Marianne Williamson.

They said: ‘Meghan was first introduced to the teachings of Marianne by her mom when she was a teenager. That’s when Doria gave her ‘A Return to Love’, one of Marianne’s most famous books.

‘Meghan had been looking for an organization to get behind and says Project Angel Food is the perfect fit.

‘[Harry and Meghan] asked a lot of questions and seemed genuinely concerned and grateful for the people working at Project Angel.’

The friend added: ‘She plans on volunteering much more with Harry and for the time being urged her mom to stay home and stay safe.

‘Doria is always wanting to help and be of service, so staying home can be a bit challenging.’

Meghan and Harry dropping off food has been the first time they’ve been seen publicly since their last-minute move from Vancouver Island, Canada to Los Angeles.

DailyMail.com previously revealed the couple were forced to scrap their plans for a celebrity-filled bash to celebrate Archie’s first birthday on May 6, due to the coronavirus lockdown being extended.

The friend hinted that Meghan hasn’t squashed the idea of having another baby, saying: ‘She joked that he needs a pint-size little buddy other than the dogs.’

They added: ‘Meghan lit up when she spoke about Archie. She said he’s a bundle of energy and prefers playing over sleeping.

Meghan also said that Archie is fascinated with his mini-instruments and likes banging on whatever he can. He also likes it when daddy teases him and plays the harmonica. He thinks it’s funny.

‘She said Archie is quite the character and loves to laugh. That he’s a happy baby.’

Meghan and Harry spent two days volunteering with the non-profit this week.None of the charity’s clients knew the Duke and Duchess were going to be delivering the food, nor had any been forewarned about their arrival.

One stunned recipient of the royal delivery was Dan Tyrell, 53, who admitted he didn’t recognize the couple when he first opened the door of his West Hollywood apartment.

‘My phone rang and a lady said, ‘Hi this is Meghan from Project Angel Food.’ Tyrell, who has HIV and issues with high blood pressure, told DailyMail.com. ‘I said, ‘Oh, do you want to meet me downstairs?’ – I didn’t realize it was THE Meghan at this point.’

Tyrell said he was startled when he walked down the building’s external staircase and spotted two black-out Porsche SUVs on the road outside. ‘I knew they was something going on,’ he remarked.

As he approached the front door, Tyrell said he spotted a man with red hair who looked familiar. ‘Then I looked at Meghan and put it all together,’ he said.

Attempting to keep a low profile, neither Harry nor Meghan formally introduced themselves to Tyrell.

Instead they told him: ‘Here’s your food and thank you. We hope you’re well and that you’re fine’.

‘They were extremely down to earth and genuinely interested in every single person they met,’ Ayoub continued.

‘They engaged with our chefs, they engaged with clients — they just wanted to make sure that people felt the love and appreciation. Their goal was really to just honor our chefs and staffs and volunteers by being of service.

‘What Meghan said is she wanted to show Harry Los Angeles through the eyes of philanthropy. It’s just beautiful,’ Ayoub added.

‘There’s obviously a great deal of love and selflessness between them. They both are individuals who want to know about others.’
