A man and woman have been airlifted to Melbourne hospitals after their cars collided on an a freeway at Victoria’s West Gippsland.
A Toyota Kluger and Ford utility crashed on the Princes Freeway at Drouin East about 1am on Tuesday, leaving the drivers of the cars trapped for some time.
Once freed, the Kluger driver – a 32-year-old Bellara man – was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition with upper body injuries.
The Ford driver, a Narre Warren woman in her 30s, was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition with lower body injuries.
